DUTIES OF THE
AZTR

WHILE AT HQ. WWC:

When we formed the Arizona Territorial Rangers Historical Reenactment Group, we wanted to preserve the memory of lawmen of the old west.  Arizona was chosen because of it's historical value in the development of the old west.
We are volunteers who strive towards historical accuracy in our shows (well, most of the time..). ( For obvious reasons we are in no way to be considered actual law enforcement officers . )
Our members come from all walks of life, all with an interest in western history. Men, women and youngsters (with adult supervision) are welcome to join us. We  volunteer at Wild West City, helping out in everything from shows, cleanup, and crowd control, to maintenance and even some construction and repairs. In return, we are allowed to "live out our childhood dreams" of being cowboys................
Our Office is in the Marshall's Office at Wild West City. We are currently remodeling the jail and installing a set of old time jail cells that date back to 1890.

REGULAR  APPEARANCES

Members are only requested to " Show Up " at Wild West City  6 times during the season to stay on the " Active List ".

(During the season, there are 51weekend days and over 90 weekdays )

The only requirement placed on a member is that you " Dress Up " in western outfit to add to the atmosphere.............
Any shows you get into are because you want to, no pressure from the members or WWC staff etc. We're happy if you're
just " Window Dressing ".

We have found though, that there's a kid in all of us that just can't resist playing cowboy one more time......

IN THE TERRITORY:

Members are not required to participate outside of Wild West City. We are active in many areas such as a Fall Foliage Steam Train Ride in October where we play bandits & posse and chase each other Through the train during the ride as it travels from
Hawthorne, N.J. to Warwick, N.J. and back........

WWC has sent Staff members to perform at parties, Boy Scout Annual dinners, The County Fair, Town Parades, "Town Days" and various other events, including "in-house movie shoots" and a rare comercial or two...... These are all voluntary.

We have also helped the Cub Scouts in their various events such as the spring "GOLDRUSH" event.

Its just another chance to play cowboy......

JUST REMEMBER, IF YOU "VOLUNTEER" FOR ONE OF THESE
EVENTS, THEY AND WE, WILL EXPECT TO SEE YOU THERE........
